Welcome to my SharePoint site! I am the full time school counselor for all students in Roosevelt and Kaleidoscope Academy. I have been working in the Appleton Area School District since 2004. I have a Bachelor's of Art degree in Psychology from UW-Eau Claire and a Master's degree in K-12 School Counseling from UW-Stout.
Some people wonder just what school counselors do. I am here to help students sort out concerns related to academics, social or behavioral issues, as well as peer and family relationships. Together we discuss feelings and needs, explore options and reach decisions.
I meet with students individually upon student, teacher or parent request. I also meet with small groups of students who might share a similar interest or concern. I conduct classroom guidance lessons on safe and healthy choices and career exploration. I aid in transistion of students coming into our schools as well as those heading out to high school. I also hold Individual Planning Conferences with all 8th graders and their parent/guardian.
